That may be possible, I run unstable portage 2.2 without any problem (a few surprises from time to time, but no problems) for so long that I have totaly lost the knowlege what from 2.2 is backported now and what not. But then, emerge -C vte && emerge -1 vte should do the trick. Greetings Sebastian
