Should I be using "-march=k8" or "-march=athlon-xp" for a 32-bit Gentoo install on an AMD64? After looking at the backward-compatibility issues of running 32-bit code in a 64-bit install, and the fact that there wasn't any major benefit to be had in 64 bits, I decided to go with a 32-bit install. I'll be using CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" for a stage 1 install.
