You need to pass --boot-dir and --root-dir to grub2-install (check the man page for the exact syntax). If your gentoo install is mounted at /mnt/gentoo these should be /mnt/gentoo/boot and /mnt/gentoo. -- Neil Bothwick Why do kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
