Yes, I have /etc/logrotate.d/syslog-ng.  This is what it says, but I
have no idea what it means (I'm not a programmer):

/var/log/messages {
    sharedscripts
    postrotate
        /etc/init.d/syslog-ng reload > /dev/null 2>&1 || true
    endscript
