I have no experience whether zsh is appropriate for this. If you press tab 3 times you can select from the choices (the selection is inverted). Probably, if you have to listen to which one is inverted (instead of seeing it), just typing the name is probably more convenient. So I completely agree that for a non-seeing person the whole completion system is an anti-feature.
