I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't try an update myself yet. Maybe the cause of your issue is a different one then. I think the cause of this effect is in the area of the terminal handling and termcap information within vim. You may try experimenting with different terminal emulators and TERM variable values (for example you can test whether the bug still triggers with 'export TERM=dump' set).
