It probably bundles its own copy. Which of course makes things harder to debug - but hey, it's easier for the developers :P There was a time when this was one of the things debian was religious about - no library bundling, period. Now, I would not be so surprised. To be fair, it is almost impossible to ship Firefox safely and link it against system libraries.
