It seems to me dev-lang/php-8.0.11 and virtual/httpd-php-8.0 introduced something new that generate error code 500 in apache. downgrading to: dev-lang/php-7.4.24 virtual/httpd-php-7.4 got rid of the problem, but I still need to fix my old php code :-/
