There was a news about it from 23.04.2025 saying:
"We are planning to switch the default Python target of Gentoo systems
on 2025-05-01, from Python 3.12 to Python 3.13."

So, yes, on May 5, 2025 the switch already happened.

I have followed its guidance on how to prevent an upgrade before
May 1, 2025 and had no problems with it after that date.
