I've damaged my gentoo system while cleaning up a little too aggressively, and I'm missing libdb so Apache won't run.
emerge sys-libs/db failed due to missing the java compiler, javac. It seems that in order to get javac, I need to emerge the whole java IDE blackdown-jdk, which needs x11. Is there a way to get the java compiler without installing x11? Or am I misunderstanding something here? Michael -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
