The LAN box connects to the laptop and the rsync process commences and completes fine, however, I can't see the motd. Jul 14 21:28:09 lappy rsyncd[24412]: name lookup failed for 192.168.0.2: Name or service not known Jul 14 21:28:09 lappy rsyncd[24412]: connect from UNKNOWN (192.168.0.2) Jul 14 21:28:09 lappy rsyncd[24412]: rsync on gentoo-portage/ from unknown (192.168.0.2) ================================================== which show that the motd file was found in service section. Nevertheless it does not appear in the client machine. What am I doing wrong here?
