Strange thing is that the Handbook actually has "title=foo" in its GRUB example at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=10#doc_chap2 completely contrary to correct grub syntax. I guess I should file a bug.
