Very briefly:
- Shrink your existing OS' filesystem and partition
- Install the new OS (Gentoo has excellent docs online for installing
on Macs of all kinds, and your Mac install disk will pretty much work no
matter what)
- Get GRUB or LILO going for dual-booting (again, covered in the
Gentoo docs)
I suggest you take a look at
