Samba-3.3.7 is a meta package that installs -libs, -client and -server packages instead of one huge monolothic samba package. Recent portage is smart enough to figure out what to do, except it can't deal with the blocker on cifs-mount. You don't need cifs-mount, that now comes with samba-client. Do this: emerge -avC cifs-mount emerge samba There's lots of USE flags to play with :-) -- alan dot mckinnon at gmail dot com
