The Geophysicist’s role in Jakarta is to be the lead technical person for

Indonesia and provide consulting and training services to our clients

there. In addition this person will play a major part in providing these

types of services within the whole SE Asia region.

 

The main areas of responsibility for this position are:

 

· Geophysical consulting using the VHR software product lines and

focusing specifically on AVO, inversion, multi-attribute, time-lapse and

multi-component seismic techniques.

· To provide geophysical training to our customers in the use of the

VHR software at beginner to advanced levels.

· To work with the VHR support team in resolving problems, identifying

possible business leads and to be a geophysical mentor to these staff.

· To work with the rest of the staff in VHR to maintaining current

software documentation.

· To work closely with the sales and marketing staff to create business

proposals integrating software, training and consulting.

· To study current practices and latest methods in the technical area

that VHR operates.

· Any other duties which the General Manager, Asia-Pacific directs.

 

You will report to John Coffin, the General Manager for VHR in Asia-Pacific

who is based in Perth, Australia and have two staff in Jakarta

 

The candidate for this position is expected to a graduate geophysicist,

likely with additional qualifications. The candidate should have worked

within an oil or service company for a minimum of 10 years in the

Asia-Pacific region, probably within the exploration or production

department. The candidate must be familiar with VHR software and be able to

demonstrate that he or she has significant experience in applying at least

two of the geophysical techniques mentioned, although this does not have to

be with VHR software.

 

This is a high profile, exciting position with excellent potential for

development within VHR or the broader Veritas parent. Salary will be

competitive with market rates and the opportunity to travel and work within

the Asia-Pacific region is significant
