A wirelessly connected stereo pair is possible (at least according to a marketing director), https://www.theregister.com/2014/01/14/imagination_caskeid_wifi_audio_synchronization/ I don't know if Imgtec sold these chips to anyone, but I notice Denon are selling speakers which claim to do this.
