There is a typo in the variable name at the end of the line. It should read:
out_pixel[3] = (in_pixel[3] == 0) ? 0 : in_pixel[3];
Now that I'm looking at this, it looks as if it can be simplified to:
out_pixel[3] = in_pixel[3];
