I use the mousewheel for scrolling quite often, especially when
I'm making a selection with polygonal select or quickmask so I'm
zoomed way in to see pixel details.
I find the - and +/= keys convenient for zooming in and out (and
1 for going to fullsize), so I've never needed mousewheel zooming.
