As I said previously, I'm sure it would be fine if I reinstalled GIMP 2.6 but for my lack of persistence and knowledge with Linux that isn't happening right now. Just a bit disappointed with the product. And, yes, I realise I that I didn't pay anything for it. I posted a full description of the problem in the appropriate areas however screen shots depicting the problem were not allowed to be uploaded due to site rules (karma, points, status, etc). I posted the original message to let it be known that while, for some, it might be suitable to let a small feature of the program break down, others like myself use it on a regular basis even if it is for something as unexciting as creating advertising for a small business. I will return to GIMP at some point in the future when the feature I use is up and running again or I get another machine to install 2.6 on.
