                  The Asian e-Government Conference
                    April 2006, Bangkok, Thailand 

Introduction

Asian countries are witnessing a dramatic change in their economy. So is
the scene of e-Governance! Some countries are already topping the
international charts of e-Governance, some have just begun their
journey, while there are a few others who are yet to step into the
e-Governance arena. The scope for these countries to learn from their
advanced Asian neighbors is immense and opportunities are unbound. The
present need is to create a common ground of equitable learning which
facilitates a process of overall development of the region.


The Event

egov Asia 2006 - the Asian e-Government conference, aims to provide a
knowledge-sharing platform and a forum for policymakers, practitioners,
industry leaders and academicians of Asia-Pacific nations to carry
forward the e-Government vision of the region and consolidate them into
actionable program, through collaborative learning and partnerships.


Keynote Sessions

Eminent experts and senior government officers from various parts of
Asia and will discuss e-Government developments in their respective
countries. The discussion will include (but not limit to) the following
topics:

* e-Government trends in Asia 
* e-Government strategies of Asian countries 
* Leadership reflections for e-Government

Main Tracks 

* Technology framework for e-Government 
* e-Administration to e-Services to e-Societies 
* e-Government strategic framework and future plans 
* e-Government case studies from Asian countries 


Exhibition

Showcase of e-Government products, solutions suites, services and
initiatives.


Call for Papers

Individuals working in central/state government departments,
national/international government agencies, bi-lateral/multi-lateral
organisations, research and academic institutes, development
organisations and NGOs and IT/Telecom companies involved with
e-Government and/or public sector ICT projects, technology development,
policy research, implementation etc. are encouraged to submit abstracts
of original papers for presentation in the conference.


Abstract submission:    15 January 2006
Acceptance:             30 January 2006
Full Paper Submission:  15 February 2006
