I'm the author of those warnings but I'm not sure they are correct anymore, under the light of the "elastic racetrack" model. See http://wiki.gnashdev.org/MovieAdvancement Sound and video sync problems are really due to the fact both gst and ffmpeg media handlers uses NO syncronization mechanism with the actual frame rate.
