In order to make newer Athlon XP's do SMP you have to first void your warranty with a soldering iron. :( The older ones (<1900+ ?) will run on a dual board without modification, but it's not "supported." There could be problems, and AMD would probably laugh at you if you called for tech support. Personally I'd just use the MP chips. If you buy a few notches from the top, the XP->MP price gap isn't that large. - -- -Matt Savage's Law of Expediency: You want it bad, you'll get it bad. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8xWZlc8/WFSz+GKMRAmNDAJ0Uhh0dv4+moNw72amENdo0UQvVEQCgwE+c X0jjAtPwqn8wBs5zlIn1mGI= =f6v0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text 'unsubscribe gnhlug' in the message body. *****************************************************************
