All, The tar version supplied by the project (http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/gtar.htm) is 1.13, which is from 1999. If you check the Gnu FTP site (ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/tar/), there have been 13 releases of tar in the 12 years since then.
Why is the project supplying such an old version of tar instead of a current one?
