Congratulations to Preetu Nair, for her meticulous engagement with the
stories she covers, and for this valuable, point-by-point illustration of
the consistent misrepresentation and wilful misunderstanding exhibited
towards Goa in virtually all media

In this instance, it is the BBC.

But one could easily point a similarly damning finger at any number of other
news outlets (note Outlook's witless, unbelievably shallow recent cover
story on the Russian mafia's alleged operations in Goa). The thing is that
these outlets get away with it, and so they are emboldened to continue.
Preetu's eminently polite rejoinder is a rare and welcome change to the
pattern.
