First of all, I don't understand why people still use "thou" and
"thee" when translating lyrics and poems from Indian languages.

But more importantly, I would find it equally as hard to accept Vande
Mataram as a national anthem for a secular India. The references to
Durga and Laxmi betray a bias towards Hinduism.
