Goanet meets in Goa: December 27, 12 noon and January 7, 4 pm (meeting point: Kala Academy canteen). See you there! ------------------------------
Radhakrishnan Nair finally picked up enough courage to start the sorry process of saying a half-sorry to JC. He wrote the following [Dr Jose Colaco of Nassau avers that he has no connection whatsoever with Bernado Colaco, with whom I had a spat on this forum(GoaNet). I, therefore, apologise to Dr Jose Colaco for insinuating that both are the same person. I do not, HOWEVER, retract any of my comments on this forum] Dear Radhakrishnan, I was wondering when you were going to prove that you were a Radhakrishnan as opposed to just a Radha! Please note that you also wrote the following on GoaNet [How come you (Vivek) in Uganda share the same ISP with the other crackpot Colaco, who's supposed to be in Nassau?] So here remain the questions which need answers before your APOLOGY can be accepted: 1. On WHAT BASIS did Radhakrishnan Nair, the former Goa based JOURNO make the charge that JC and whoever Vivek is, shared the same ISP ? or that JC is the same as Bernado Colaco (whoever Bernado is & wherever he/she writes from). DEFINITELY NOT from this side of the world!! 2. Why such a delay in apologizing to JC? Were you checking? If you did, WHAT did you find out? Did you check B4 you made those charges - TWICE? Did someone else's post make you wonder if JC and Ole-Xac are the same person? It would be interesting for me to learn your thought process. EVEN IF you might not have the "Time or the Inclination" to think twice about your unwarranted abuse of others. Please note that JC is NOT a journo BUT is known to persist UNTIL an answer is found - even if JC has to write to someone's employer. Remember now, JC has no emotional loyalties towards non-Goans who wrongly abuse Goans. Trust Me! sincerely jose colaco ==========for your reading pleasure========== Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 07:25:37 -0800 (PST) From: "Jose Colaco" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: hi! Just wanted to commend you for the painstaking efforts on your part (though I'm not sure how high you would value a good word from me!)] JC: I value your encouragement as much as I value your criticism. Just because I stand up to criticism does NOT mean that I do NOT value it. -- RN: [Congratulations, anyway! You really have taste and your heart and head are in the right places.] JC: I agree with you on that one (;-) -- RN: [Only I can't comprehend your obsession with the Portuguese. They are gone for good, aren't they? Why lose sleep over an inaccuracy committed here and there by an ignorant journo?] JC: Please understand where I come from. I belong to a family which OPPOSED the dictatorship of Salazar. So.....does my wife! and who did we find IN CHARGE of Goa? Those who SUPPORTED Salazar. If you do not believe.....check out the backgrounds of Bandodkar, Chougulo, Dempo etc! I have zero obsession with the Portuguese Government of Salazar. I am a product of my experiences: * born in Poona - observing subtle & not so subtle oppression of Goan Catholics by the Hindu Maha Sabha * studied in Goa - observing the overt corruption of the Bandodkar Government .....from very close quarters * lived in Goa - hearing the speeches of Bal Thackarey exhorting Goans to get rid of ALL South Indians. * lived and studied in the West Indies where THEY accept their PAST (slavery, slave master heritage etc) for what it is.....Is better for Peace ( Read my posts again.....that is my firm belief.....Don't pretend that the Portuguese did NOT exist in Goa) * lived and studied in England and saw Racism (Indian towards West Indian) * returned to The Bahamas - and saw Indian Racism towards Bahamian blacks, Punjabi discrimination against Malyalis, and ALSO towards Indians of "coolie" heritage * studied in Ireland - and saw the senseless situation in the North --- close up AS WELL AS the sense of freedom & friendship, which our children and we experienced in Southern Ireland. * Visited Portugal 1999 and was absolutelt delighted at the change the Portuguese have made towards life. I hope you know that the LARGEST Hindu temple (funded by the Portuguese Govt) in Europe is in Lisbon. Also saw the development of Islamic art museums in Lisbon + the freedom with which Indian women in salwars walk around in Lisbon! * I am appalled at seeing that FILTH which has overcome Goa, esp my old alma mater GMC! That is a disgrace! You think I can lead a team of my colleagues on a visit there? AND .......who takes the cake for this. There are other issue.....like * the lies to Invade Goa * Dabolim * The Beaches * the Posts in Goa Govt * Anjediva * Land Conversion * Money swiping and * this BJP ( the reason why the anti-Portuguese stuff will NOT stop) It is not the bit about it being anti-Portuguese that incenses me, as much as IT being used as a DIVERSIONARY COVER good wishes jc PS; Thanks for you e-note. Let me hear your side now -- RN: [Believe me, Dr Colaco, there's no Portuguese-bashing over here as you imagine. As far as we're concerned, it's a closed chapter.] JC: Trust me.....it ain't over yet. -- RN: [Please judge us a bit more leniently!] JC: I will judge you - as I see you. And I could still be wrong. If you show me where I am wrong, I will be happy to stand corrected jc welcome to the RAUL EPISODE (still under construction) http://www.colaco.net/1/RaulSaga1.htm Now....let me go back to my work and EARN some dineros!
