Goa RTI Forum to organize its annual convention on May 27 at Panjim Goa RTI Forum will organize its annual RTI Convention on Sunday, May 27, 2pm to 6pm, at the Institute of Menezes Braganza Conference Hall, Panjim. During the convention, there will be informative sessions, panel discussions and interactions on topics such as ‘Suo-motu disclosures’, ‘Record keeping’, ‘How to file Public Interest Litigation (PIL)’, ‘RTI – Problems and solutions’ and ‘Emerging issues in implementation of RTI Act’.
Applications are invited by May 25 (by email to goartifo...@gmail.com) for the “RTI Activist of the Year Award” which has been instituted by Journalist Prakash Kamat in the memory of his Late Father ‘Mhabalu Vishnu Kamat’. The awardee will be presented with a Citation along with a cash prize of Rs 5000/-. Awards to other prominent RTI Activists and students shall also be presented during the convention. At the event, there will be a RTI stall which will showcase the use of the RTI Act along with success stories. Prominent activists such as Dr Ketan Govekar, Adv Aires Rodrigues, Kashinath Shetye, Rajan Ghate and others will be a part of the event. RTI Activists, NGOs/civil society groups, students and other stakeholders are invited to attend the RTI Convention which is open to the public.
