Hello, "There is a story inside every one, a story waiting to come out". Thus spake our Rico, Hon F.N., at the launch of Yvonne Vaz Ezdani's book 'Songs of Survivors', today at 4.30 p.m. at the Xavier Cenre of Historical Research, Porvorim, Goa
Taking a cue from Rico, I want to put together a book about Goans in Africa. Goans played a significant role in the dvelopment of Africa. So there's a whole world out there waiting to hear about what Goans did in Africa: Their clubs, the jobs they held, the lives they led, the moments when they were forced to leave their beloved Africa either by Africanization or by the fiat of dictators like Idi Amin; anything but anything about Goans in Africa, not only East Africa (BEA), but all parts of Africa. What I have in mind is a collection of 25 to 30 articles of 2000 to 2500 words each which would be put together in the form of a book. It would be wonderful if contributors could enhance their writing with maps, photographs, etc. Rights of the contributors would be duly respected. Please contact me if you are willing to share your story. Also, If you know any one who is willing to share his story, please pass the messageaa Thanks in advance Tony (By way of introduction, I am a retired Headmaster, having served one of Goa's oldest Educational Instititutions, Sacred Heart High School, Parra, Goa for most of my adult life.
