Reboni Saha's reaction to Rajan's criticism of GBA and labelling him as an arm
chair critic is ridiculous. If he was an arm chair critic he could have spent
his short stint in Goa just socialising with friends and relatives and given
some more quality time to his aging father. But Rajan chose to leave home
early and return late, sometimes after 2 days just to capture the beautiful
moments of Goa which he might not see when he returns and along with it the
horrifying glimpses of ugly concrete creations and mining for which many
engineers, architects and contractors who claim to save Goa are responsible.
Rajan's 'Rape of Goa' was definitely his contribution to creating awareness and
goans who have viewed it have had been aroused to anger. That is what even lead
Jason Keith from the up-market Dona Paula to accuse Rajan of inciting
violence. Rajan has defintely not kept information like the excel files on
zoning changes and maps from the public. He shared whatever information he
gathered with the people and some of it is being reproduced in the newspapers
these days.
Rajan has been an inspiration to many and got them doing something for Goa, but
definitely not with GBA. I definitely salute Rajan the true Goenkar for his
contribution in the struggle to save Goa.
