In the Fifties and Sixties a ‘forn’ (bakery) was run on a partnership
rotational basis

between two poder - each one ran it for 4 months.  This was the norm prevalent 
then.

They operated their fornun only during the winter months.  
They were batkars in Colva, which might have had something to do with it. 
Perhaps they went fishing in the summer..........
