Goa Carbon Limited Brand Ambassador and Asian Junior Girls Champion Bhakti Kulkarni signed off the chess season by winning a prize of 235 Euros(Rs.15,000/- apprx) in the Aeroflot Open chess Tournament at Moscow today.

"It was dream come true for me," said delighted Bhakti who wanted badly to win a prize at Moscow - the Mecca of Chess and hometown of many World Chess Champions like Botvinnik, Smyslov, Karpov etc.

"At halfway stage, I was trailing nearly everybody as I had never been to such cold place before," Bhakti said. Bhakti fell ill in the beginning as it was minus 25 degree Celsius outside and she was certain that her dream of bagging a prize in Moscow would be a distant dream. However she pulled together all her energy and won the last 3 rounds to finish 25th in the tournament.

"I shall be participating in the Commonwealth Championship in May 2012 at Chennai and till then I shall concentrate on my studies" confirmed the 19 year old student of FY Arts before adding, "I shall participate for Air India Team in the National Woman Team Chess Championship at Panaji if they need my services". Air India takes care of Bhakti's domestic travels.

Last year, Bhakti had helped Air India win the National Team Chess Gold at Kochi. She was winner of Individual Gold for her performance.
