COMMENT: While I agree with the general thrust of the Nisser Dias post, I wish someone would please explain to me how the Medical report works wrt this thing called Prostitution. Am I to understand that IF (say) Janardhan complains to the police that (say) Shanti is a "dance bar" woman who is engaged in prostitution, Shanti is hauled to a doctor and her vagina is then examined by the doctor ....or a set of doctors? Am I to then understand that Journalists and other folks see nothing wrong with this heinous ASSAULT on women? FOR, if they did, I would have read a different script in the many articles about this incident. What, if the women had consensual sex unrelated to the "dance bar" or its patrons? Would they have been deemed engaged in prostitution? I am reminded of the circa 1974 nonsense which took place Heathrow airport - wherein Ind/Pak women were subjected to vaginal examinations at the airport before being allowed in.
