for a thread the only necessary parameter is the threadm:

Still too long to fit on a line (but you could resort to
makeashorterlink.com or tinyurl.com or shorl.com or Ask Bjørn
Hansen's new metamark.net).  For a URL for just the individual
article, s/threadm/selm/.
