Ikai, Do you have experience with Play framework on GAE. I looked at it and I noticed it uses Groovy for templating in the view layer. Sometime back I tried to use Groovy on GAE and it had performance impacts.
Do you know Play suffers with longer (cold) startup of application, our first time view is accessed (which is probably the same).
