I manage a website for a collegiate running club. I am trying to design a page similar to Gmap Pedometer but with a feature that allows users to store and share running routes.
User draws a polyline on the map > Vertices are passed to the database along with a user specified route name and notes. Functionality similar to: www.gmap-pedometer.com http://maps.forum.nu/gm_plot.html I know I have some research and learning ahead-- can somebody offer me a basic explanation of how to pass information from Javascript to PHP for entry in a database? Any suggestions for learning resources and tutorials would be greatly appreciated.
