*_NEW FALL HARVARD EXTENSION SCHOOL COURSE EXPLORES SUSTAINABLE TOURISM_*

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Recognizing the need for formal training in the area of /sustainable/ tourism, the Harvard Extension School <http://www.extension.harvard.edu/> this fall offers a new course, Environmental Management of International Tourism Development <http://www.extension.harvard.edu/2010-11/courses/13556.jsp?caller=dce>, both online and on campus, as part of its Graduate Program in Sustainability and Environmental Management <http://www.extension.harvard.edu/environmental-sustainability/default.jsp>.

Taught by sustainable tourism expert Megan Epler Wood <http://www.eplerwood.com/>, the course lays out specific methodologies for managing tourism sustainably worldwide. Lectures and readings on the global tourism industry's business and supply chain models preface the course's in-depth review of how mainstream tourism companies can effectively take on the challenge of environmental management worldwide. Guest speakers from the sustainable tourism industry give presentations throughout the semester.

Course enrollment is open to all. ENVR E-118 /Environmental Management of International Tourism Development <http://www.extension.harvard.edu/2010-11/courses/13556.jsp?caller=dce>/ meets Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in Cambridge, Mass.
