That was it!  Thank you!

I *was* already playing with the \greabovelinestextstyle,  but didn't
have right.
So how does that work?

You use \renewcommand  to basically modify the command;
What is the "#1"?  Is that a placeholder for any text that is supposed
to go there from the gabc?
And the parameter for \greabovelinestextstyle in the square brackets - I
am guessing that is a pointer to the #1 so the command knows what to affect?
