| Santosh Trophy: Goa to give Rs 1 lakh to each team member - - | |
| Panaji: The Goa government would give one lakh rupees as reward to every team member, including officials, for winning Santosh Trophy football title. The announcement was made on Monday by Sports Minister Pandurang Madkaikar at Kochi in Kerala, before the start of the final match. After the team's win, Madkaikar said the victory was a very special moment for every Goans. ''I am proud that Goa has emerged as the new champions of the Indian football,'' the minister said. Goa Football Association (GFA), too, has announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 per member for winning the trophy. A grand reception will also be given to the team, which left for Goa by a special bus on Monday night. The felicitation function for the team would be held at Fatorda stadium at 07:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Earlier, the GFA had announced Rs 5,000 per member for making it to the finals after beating Punjab in the semi-finals. |
