Kuwait, Dec 13: Kanajar Welfare Association, Kuwait (KWAK)
celebrated their Vodlem Fest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Kanajar on 11th December at Village Inn Restaurant, Kuwait City. Our Lady of Lourdes was honoured by offering the 4.30 pm Konkani Mass at the Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City. The celebrations began at 7.00 pm with a prayer and hymn dedicated to Our Lady Of Lourdes by Vice President, Mrs. Jecintha Pinto. Then the President Mr. Melwin Mascarnehas with his beautiful words welcomed the chief Guest Fr. Melvin DCuuna and Mr. Stevan Machado, President KCWA, Fr. Alexander Lewis & Fr. George D'Souza the guest priests from Mangalore. They were honoured with flower bouquets. The chief guest's gave a beautiful message. The attractive
feast cake was cut. Soft drinks & pastries were served. Every year, KWAK honours the outstanding Students of X & XII CBSE Board. And this year too there was 2 Students who were honoured for their Academic excellence for the year 2004-2005. The proud students were Miss. Rowena Mendonca, Daughter of Mrs. Rose & Mr. Lancy Mendonca (X pass and continuing her studies at Carmel School Kuwait) and Mr. Glen Saldanha, son of Mr. Lawrence & Mrs. Reeda Saldanha (XII pass and now doing his BE at St. Josephs Engg. College Mangalore) Also, the following persons were honored with flower bouquet for their sincere support towards the association from the beginning. Top Catering Then it was a DJ time. Mr. Jerry Cutinho & his Group that gave the party a good turn with their splendid music with latest numbers, which kept the audience cheerful and thrilled, till the end of programme. Spot prizes were announced during the entertainment session. The exacting games were conducted by Mrs. Rose Mendonca & Mr. Anil Britto, which was enjoyed by one and all. The famous Bingo game was played and lots of gifts were given away. The grace before led by President, Melwin Mascarnehas while delicious Mangalorean style food from Village Inn & Tip Top caterers was served. Vote of thanks has given by the President, which
was very touching; he specially thanked the members for their support during his 2 years tenure as a President. The programme came to an end at 9.30 pm. The President deserves all the appreciation for his best compere and the arrangements made by him to entertain KWAK members for this unique event was commendable. Indeed the 11th Dec 2005 was a grate day for the Parishioners of Kanajar who lives in Kuwait. The day will be remembered as a sweet memory
