Hi,

When I try to run the example:

./bin/hadoop jar hadoop-*-examples.jar grep input output 'dfs[a-z.]+'

I got:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

Thanks,

Rui

Hadoop runs on windows and the mac. It is hard to believe that it
 depends
so much on Linux.

What specific errors are you seeing?
