Today marks the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's devastating blow to
the Gulf Coast that left an unprecedented path of destruction and despair for
thousands of Americans. Tonight on Hardball, you'll see a sneak preview of "NBC
Nightly News" Anchor Brian Williams' exclusive interview with President Bush in
New Orleans. Read more about it on MSNBC.com:

Tonight on Hardball, MSNBC Chief Washington Correspondent Norah O'Donnell,
sitting in for Chris, talks with Louisiana's leaders in Washington, D.C., about
what's working and what's not working in the ongoing federal effort to help the
Gulf Coast rebuild. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) will
both join Norah from New Orleans. MSNBC.com has photos comparing then and now:

Nearly one year ago, President Bush bounced FEMA boss Mike Brown as the lead
federal official in the recovery effort and replaced him with then Coast Guard
Vice-Admiral Thad Allen, who's now the commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Allen was with the president today in New Orleans and he'll be here to talk
about how he thinks the recovery effort is going. The AP takes a look at the
Mississippi coast: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14573772/.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and historian Doug Brinkley, author of "The Great
Deluge," will talk about how the one-year anniversary is affecting the
president. Plus, Reverend Al Sharpton and former Republican Party Chair and
Gov. Jim Gilmore (R-VA) will tear through the politics of Katrina and Iraq and
all of the latest news in Decision 2006.
