Christoph; Geting any of the "old books" will do just fine. The VistA model was written to the Standard MUMPS that these books describe. Very little else has been added. What is not standard is almost exclusively in the Kernel and not in the applications. So learning the basics from these early books is adequate to get you started. By the way, Ed deMoel's book is probably the most recent and certainly most up to date. If you can find Richard Davis' or Greg Kreis' books from Navap, they would be real finds.
