The 2010 picture book, First Rain by Charlotte Herman (Whitman) tells about a
young girl, whose family goes on aliyah, and her continuing relationship with
her grandmother, who surprises her with a visit to Israel.

Subject: [ha-Safran] elementary books about North American aliyah
I can’t seem to find any children’s books about North American families making
aliyah. Our library has picture books on Russian and Ethiopian aliyah, but none
that I have found yet on U.S. or Canadian families. Doesn’t need to be “new”.
