Approximately 12 hours/week *Job Functions:* · Collaborate with the Library Committee to articulate and support the vision, mission, strategic goals and objectives of the Library. · Carries out Library operations including acquisitions, cataloging (using yet to be selected computer cataloging system), managing the collection, reference and outreach. · Manage the implementation of an electronic cataloguing system and provide assistance to membership to utilize the new system. · Provide leadership in promoting the library, its collection and services, to the Clergy, the administration, the Religious and Nursery School teachers and to members of the congregation. · Participate in Synagogue education planning for synagogue membership and promote Library centered programs. · Take the lead in stimulating Library usage by synagogue membership. · Supervise library volunteers. · Ensure adherence to the standards of the Association of Jewish Libraries. · Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested. *Requirements* · Education: ALA-accredited Master of Library Science or equivalent · Experience: Experience in either an academic, school, special or public library. · Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work as a solo librarian, without supervision. Ability to take the initiative in promoting the library to current and potential users. Demonstrated ability to use technological applications that support and enhance library services.
