if you need comprehensive support of http and ftp in one api/library, as far as i know, the curl bindings are your only choice
related...i promised a while back to support packaging and documentation of the curl bindings. this work is now delayed until freebsd 7 gains haskell support (due to acquiring new hardware, i had to upgrade my os). sorry to anyone who expected immediate results.
