The process is easy and we meet on line (irc) every Friday to read and decide on projects to approve. If you could get your application in by Thursday you should be able to have it considered this week. If it is approved, you will usually get your XOs within a week or two. Here is the link to the Contributors Program: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Contributors_program And here is the link to the application: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Contributors_program/Project_proposal_form Read as much as you have time for... there is lots of good info here... and if you have any questions, email me. If you plan to do this, I will create a "ticket" for you in our RT system where we keep messages about projects, questions, and that sort of thing. I had to google what a circle sawn floor looks like - very interesting finish. I'm very excited about this project. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be able to find more qualified help, at least to create content. I will be asking people in the higher level BIO classes for help as an example of exciting projects they can participate in if they join the pre-med club. The department chair said I'll probably be able to present it before the start of their classes. I would really love to have an XO laptop to use as a visual aid when demonstrating the project. My XO "contact" hasn't answered his home or work phone in a while so he might be traveling. Anyone have any ideas? I want to make a memorable impression in the few minutes I'll have before the start of their classes and the XO will interest them. I want to do this as early as possible.
