          PAS : KE ARAH PEMERINTAHAN ISLAM YANG ADIL
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pekong dan nanah dalam umno semakin terserlah. Tengoklah seperti mana Datuk
Aziz kata:
"I was really disturbed and disappointed with many quarters, including party
leaders, for blaming Umno Youth for the defeat when the problem goes deeper
than that.
"Umno has problems and it cannot run away from them simply by shifting the
blame on Umno Youth.'' That, he said, was very unfair.
Seperti mana statement Datuk Aziz lagi supaya kerajaan BN jangan hanya
sekadar mengeluarkan janji buat jalanraya hanya ketika pilihanraya sahaja.
Beliau sindir kat kebanyakan pemimpin BN especially Samy Vellu kot?
Aziz: I quit because of the flak
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth deputy head Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir said he
decided to resign because of growing criticisms against the movement's
performance during the Lunas by-election.
Aziz, however, said he retracted the resignation letter which had been sent
to party president Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad, after meeting Youth chief
Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein on Saturday.
"Hishammuddin has informed the president of my decision to retract the
letter. Now it is up to Dr Mahathir to decide on my position.
"If he decides to accept my resignation, I am ready to go. It will be good
for Umno Youth because if things remain the way they are, I don't see how I
can contribute effectively in Umno Youth.''
Aziz said he was very serious about relinquishing the position which he
assumed six months ago.
"I was not trying to milk sympathy because of the criticisms levelled at me
or Umno Youth for failing to deliver the votes in Lunas.
"I was really disturbed and disappointed with many quarters, including party
leaders, for blaming Umno Youth for the defeat when the problem goes deeper
than that.
"Umno has problems and it cannot run away from them simply by shifting the
blame on Umno Youth.'' That, he said, was very unfair.
"Barisan Nasional lost because Umno has lost touch with what the people need
and not because Umno Youth had not worked hard enough,'' he said after the
Umno Youth exco meeting yesterday.
Calling for immediate reforms, Aziz said it was time that Umno leaders
seriously thought about how to convince the people that the party was still
relevant.
To do that, he said, Umno should stop being a reactive party but must get a
firm grip on the Government so that it could regain the people's confidence
by becoming a party that delivers.
"What this means is that you don't promise roads to the people only during
elections. You provide them with infrastructure when they need them, not
when you need their votes.''
