Puzzle over extra 10 ballots in Silam
LAHAD DATU: Umno election officials at the Silam division meeting are "puzzled'' as to how an extra 10 ballots were found in the boxes.In view of this, they have suspended the results of the division polls.
Sabah Umno election observer Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh said election officials decided to suspend the results and refer the matter to the party supreme council for a decision on whether to accept the results or reconvene the meeting.
Incumbent division chief Datuk Yusof Amat Jamlee is facing a three-way fight for the post, and his challengers are deputy chairman Datu Nasrun Datu Mansor and Silam MP Datuk Railey Jeffrey.
