Hi, There seems to be a timing window with this HP product family (ie: clj2550, clj2840, lj3050, lj3055, clj4730mfp) that makes the print job 3-4 times slower than normal. This issue seems to be PC hardware specific and USB 2.0 specific. Fortunately there is a perfectly good work around.
In the data/models/models.dat file change the "io-mode=4" to "io-mode=1" for your printer record. Note, your printer record should match your URI (ie: [hp_color_laserjet_2550] or [hp_color_laserjet_2550_series]). This will change the USB printing data transport from 1284.4 to "raw". The models.dat changes should be in the next HPLIP release. -dave > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > Of Brad Campbell > Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2007 2:38 AM > To: hplip-help@lists.sourceforge.net > Subject: [Hplip-help] _very_ slow printing using hplip 2.7.7 > / libusb / LJ2550 / Debian 4.0 > > G'day all, > > This has been driving me _insane_ for months now, and I've > found a way around it (which is remove hplip and get cups to > use /dev/usb/lp0)..
