According to Jesse op den Brouw: > there's one thing that puzzles me: > > where is 3.2.0b4 ???
We decided to skip over it to avoid the confusion caused by 2+ years of 3.2.0b4 snapshots out there, incorporated into RPMs and other packages, as well as a lot of test or even production installations. This was to pre-empt having most bug reports for 3.2.0b4 inevitably requiring the obvious follow-up question, "3.2.0b4 final release or an earlier snapshot?" Besides, since making that decision, the code has moved far ahead of where it was in earlier snapshots, in terms of both reliability and features, so a bump in beta numbers is doubly called for now. I think we now seem to be close to ready for a final release soon after this beta, as long as the beta testing goes well. -- Gilles R.
